The procedure for phlebotomy involves taking blood tests for a range of medical conditions.
Once processed in the hospital laboratory, the results are returned to the Practice electronically. The length of time taken for the results to be processed can vary. You will be contacted by the doctor or practice nurse with your blood test results.
Please note that blood tests are only taken during, or following, a consultation with the doctor.
There is a fee for bloods for all patients (private and medical card patients). This is in addition to the consultation charge for private patients. Blood tests can be arranged without charge in Ely Hospital in Wexford.
